Amy's Endorsements
State Senator Jolie Justus (D-10)
"I am proud to endorse Amy Coffman for State
Representative in the 44th House District. Amy has the experience,
knowledge, energy and compassion that it will take to create real
change in Jefferson City."
State Representative Beth Low (D-39) "The
House of Representatives needs leaders who understand the issues facing
working Missourians. I am proud to endorse Amy Coffman in the 44th
district because she has proven her committment and dedication to those
who need her voice most."
Jackson County Legislator Theresa Garza Ruiz (D-1, at Large)
"Now, more than ever, we need strong, experienced,
capable leaders who will steer our state back in the right
direction. That is why I am encouraging my friends, neighbors,
and supporters in the 44th House District to work to help get Amy
Coffman elected to the House of Representatives."
Councilwoman Beth Gottstein (D-4, at Large)
"There is no question in my mind that Amy Coffman will run an
ethical, grassroots campaign, which will make Kansas City Democrats
proud." Former State Representative Meg Harding (D-30)
"The
Missouri General Assembly needs leaders who are knowledgeable,
experienced, hard-working and passionate about the people they
serve. Amy Coffman possesses all these qualities and I am proud
to lend my support to her campaign. She will do an honorable job
for the citizens of the 44th District and the entire state of
Missouri."
Former City Council CandiDeth - Deth Im
What we need in
politics right now are candidates who are motivated to be public
servants rather than driven to hold public office. I support Amy
Coffman in her bid for Missouri's House of Representatives because she
is that kind of person."

Dear Neighbors,
With
the last week upon us, it is unfortunate to see disingenuous
attacks coming from my opponent in the mail, on the web, and at our
neighbor's doors.
He has attacked my proven leadership and the organizations that support me by calling them "special interests". If groups like the Women's Political Caucus
who have propelled women into politics and defended reproductive choice
are "special interests" - then I am proud to personally support them as
much as they have supported my candidacy. If
groups that defend human rights like PROMO and groups that defend
working people like the AFL-CIO are "special interests" - then they are
MY special interests. The irony is that my opponent worked
for the support of these "special interests" as well and attacks them
now because they decided to support my campaign.
He has attacked me for taking contributions from "lobbyists". Michelle Krajewski who advocates on behalf of disabled Missourians is a "lobbyist" whose support I am proud to have. Emily Smith, Carrie Shapton, and Crystal Williams who lobby for children's health and early education are my personal friends - not only campaign contributors. Michelle Trupiano who I have often called "the hardest working advocate in the capitol" protects reproductive rights of Missouri women in a hostile environment. Yes, they are registered lobbyists, and we need many more progressive advocates like them working in Jefferson City.
With the little time remaining until election day, desperate campaigns will take drastic measures to win. We've seen it all before and our neighborhood has rejected these tactics in the past. I know we will do so again. |
SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council Endorsement
On
July 16th, I was proud to announce the unanimous endorsement of the
Service Employees International Missouri/Kansas State Council.
In
announcing the endorsement, Sherwin Carroll, President of the SEIU
Missouri/Kansas State Council, said, "Amy Coffman is a fighter for
working families and seniors, who will take a record of getting things
done to Jefferson City." He continued by stating that, "Coffman
has the judgment and vision necessary to help lead Missouri in the
right direction and we are proud to endorse her candidacy for State
Representative."
I
am honored to have earned the support of the men and women of the
SEIU. Together we will win this election, and as State
Representative I will continue the battle of guaranteeing that hard
working Missourians receive a real, living wage; ensuring quality
long-term care for our aging population; and providing access for our
children to high quality, public education.

Representative Shalonn "KiKi" Curls' Endorsement
On July 17th, I was honored to receive the endorsement of Representative Shalonn "KiKi" Curls (D-41).
She
stated, ""The House of Representatives needs additional strong voices
for Kansas City. Amy Coffman's public policy experience is
essential for adding to our strength. Amy has the ability to
speak for everyone in our city."
Having had the pleasure of
working in Jefferson City with Representative Curls, I know how strong
an advocate she is for the people of Kansas City. I look forward
to joining her, and the rest of the Kansas City delegation, next
session as we work to move Missouri forward.

All Three Kansas City LGBT Organizations Endorsements
I
am proud to announce that this campaign has earned the endorsements
from all three LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender)
organizations representing the Kansas City area: PROMO PAC; the
Four Freedoms Democratic Club; and the Kansas City PRIDE Democratic
Club.
It is a sad fact that we live in a state where
LGBT Missourians are truly second-class citizens under our
Constitution; where LGBT Missourians can be legally discriminated
against in housing, employment and public accommodations; and where
LGBT students are routinely harassed in our schools and given little or
no protection under the law. However, I am excited for the
opportunity to join the ranks of Senator Jolie Justus, Representative
Beth Low, and so many other fair-minded legislators in Jefferson City,
as we work to ensure full equality for all Missouri citizens.
